THE TOY LISTS

We created separate posts for each age because, frankly, all of those "Top 100" or "Top 50" lists make us crazy and are totally overwhelming - we wanted to keep them simple and just offer some ideas (that may spark other ideas).  However, we thought this little post - linked up to each age - might make things easier to find.  Simply click on the age and it will take you to the post.  Hope this helps.

TOY LISTS:

  1. Quite a few books I love in the book list...I was hoping to see some Mo Willems books, especially Elephant and Piggie. These books are so much fun that my husband and I sat in Barnes and Noble reading them to each other while figuring out which ones to get my cousin's kids, yet so easy that a friend's little boy was "reading" them when he was 3. My own baby, only 7 months old, also enjoys them. I'd also recommend Knuffle Bunny and its sequels.
My mom's copy of "Stand back," said the elephant. "I'm going to sneeze." Started falling apart because we loved it so much. :)

  2. Thank you for the PERFECT pre-holiday posting...exactly what I was looking for, and no where near as overwhelming as the "Top 100" lists. I always tell my sister that you think SO much like we do, and choose/make EXACTLY the type of ideas we have for our kids, but you are so very organized and on top of things that you do it FAR better and, apparently, far more regularly. :)

I know that your little ones are not that age yet, but I wish you had a listing for 5 or 6 year olds, because I just KNOW I would find more things in your listing that I thought of, but couldn't find or had not yet thought of how to accomplish, but love...as I have in all the other age ranges.

  3. Another great book on "discipline" here is called "Honey I Wrecked the Kids". Excellent on connecting with your kids, why time outs don't work, positive re-inforcement etc. Written by Alyson Schafer.
