Here is an activity totally inspired by a fan - thank you, Megan McRae (Im pretty sure you were the original source).
You always know when the weather is bad because you will likely see more "invitation type" posts from us. Today I set this one up for my son. It was a huge hit. I believe my son's sense of choice is smell - LOL - he smells everything and was constantly commenting on the smell of the cinnamon and how it smelled "hot". I thought that was a perfect adjective for it. He told me that he was making me some "stinky, hot soup". Simple and fun - the pics speak for themselves.

We do this all the time :) NOT to say that you didn't post something from an original source, but I did write a blog post about this on Feb 22, with the title "Pretend cooking with real ingredients."

Did you "eat" it? LOL, my son does this all the time and I really eat or drink it. He won't touch it, though.
ReplyDeleteFun! We did this today (saw it on http://www.playcreateexplore.com/2012/02/pretend-cooking-with-real-ingredients.html through Pintrest).
ReplyDeleteI saw the confetti eggs when I was doing some Easter shopping. I should have bought more than 2 dozen--it was so fun! I love the idea of putting spices in the mini muffin tin (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=3406965896207&set=o.174614952594331&type=1&theater) We'll have to try that next time.
What we did do was use some old empty spice containers and I put salt in one and cinnamon in the other. My kids loved sprinkling it in their "cookies" I was too nervous to try wet ingredients, but we'll do that next time. I have an old mapleine container I'll put some colored water in.
My kids are doing this now and having so much fun. Thank you so much for showing me HOW to play with my children. This blog has been such a help for me. :)
