Projected Play

I purchased an old Overhead projector from Craigslist for $30.  This is something that was always inspiring to the students in my classroom when I was a teacher, so I knew my son would love it.  What a great way to learn through play!  There are so many ways to explore with a projector.  Here are a few.

(Projected onto a white shower curtain liner from the Dollar Store)

Great way to learn about colors, shapes, shadows.....
 and letters.

You can even play ON the projector.
Its also a great way to inspire imagination:  "Im making a forest, Mommy. Ooooooh - look at that forest. Maybe there are bats and spiders in there....and lots and lots of trees.....and maybe there is a woodpecker - going bam bam bam bam on the tree - like that, Mommy."

  1. This is what we do with our projector, (got off Kijiji, like a Criagslist, for $10!) Anyways, curious - your imaginary play .. how do you get the photos projected? (from another post). Or, did I read wrong and you use a different projector? Mine just show up as a black rectangle.
